The history of the German Army Trainer (GAT) is controversial. What is certain is that it was designed for indoor training by the German armed forces in the 1970s. The rubber sole for grip and all-leather body for comfort made this shoe ideal for indoor training exercises. Later, like manyautres pieces, the design went from military to fashion.
