Finally, there is the summer version of the popular MA-1 flight jacket for women. The MA-1 VF LW is slimmer than the original MA-1 and has been specially adapted to the female figure. In addition, the thick padding of the original has been removed to achieve a lower weight. The lightweight but durable flight nylon also protects against wind and rain. Admittedly, this development may not be as dramatic as women's right to vote. Still, military fashion is still a man's domain - and we thought it would be a step in the right direction to turn a men's jacket into a women's jacket.
