Description
ChromeFree bovine leather is smooth and light. Sourced from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), it undergoes an innovative tanning process without chromium, heavy metals or harmful acids. By simplifying the tanning process, chemical and energy use is limited, water use is reduced by about 40% and salt use by 80%. After tanning, the water is recyclable.
The suede is made from the underside of bovine leather that has been brushed to make it softer and more supple. It comes from farms in southern Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul). It is tanned in Brazil, respecting REACH standards. Special attention is given to the use of water during the tanning process. The suede is also coated with water repellent oils without PFCs (chemical compounds) to protect the sneakers from light rain.
