The EX89 is inspired by the GEL-EXTREME basketball shoe from 1989, featuring ultra-modern cushioning. Designed by Toshikazu Kayano in the late 1980s, it was his first design with ASICS. The new FF BLAST foam enhances the cushioning. The heel shape wraps around the foot for maximum comfort in everyday wear. The outsole pattern represents a city seen from above. Inspired by the designer's first business trip to the United States in 1987, it provides optimal grip.
